What areas do we serve? Can Foothills Picnics come to my house?

We serve Fort Collins and surrounding areas, including Loveland, Windsor, Berthoud, and further! We will set up picnics in houses, backyards, parks, and everything in-between! For the Choose Your Own Venue option, there may be a surcharge for drive time. We will notify you of this charge within 48 hours of your time of booking. There may also be other additional fees, including permit fees, entrance fees, or reservation fees for some parks.

How many people does Foothills Picnics accommodate?

We accommodate up to 15 people.

What happens the day of the picnic?

We will send you a Google location pin about one hour before your start time. Once you arrive, we will leave unless you need a few pictures taken beforehand. Please do not leave the picnic unattended. If you want to leave early, please let us know.

Do we offer food & beverages?

We do not provide food or beverages with our packages, but we can happily recommend food vendors to you!

Leaving early?

Please call or text if you want to leave early so the team can go back and make sure the equipment doesn't get left unattended. In the event items are stolen because they were left unattended, or accidentally taken home with you, we will charge the card on file.

What if we want to stay longer?

That’s our goal! This is an addon when you are first scheduling. Additionally, you can text us at if you want to extend your time. There is an extra $15 per hour or $7.5 per half hour charge.

Bad weather?

Unfortunately on the front range, bad weather happens, but we can always reschedule. We will do our best to inform you of inclement weather, but it is your responsibility to keep an eye on the forecast. Our next question explains our cancellation and reschedule policies.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

If you need to reschedule or cancel due to weather or any other reason, please notify us via email, phone, or Instagram as soon as possible. In the event of rain or heavy wind on your picnic day, we will determine whether rescheduling is necessary.

Reschedule policy: Weather-related rescheduling incurs no fees and can be done without limitations. We understand that weather is beyond our control. For non-weather-related rescheduling with 30 or more days' notice, there's no cost. With less than 30 days' notice, a $50 fee applies, along with any pre-purchased picnic items. Multiple reschedules incur an additional $25 fee each time.

Cancellation policy: With 30 or more days' notice, a $50 cancellation fee applies. Less than 30 days' notice incurs a charge of half your original booking total. Without any notice, the full amount is charged. We may also charge you for any purchased picnic items regardless of notice period.

Is there a deposit due at booking?

No deposit is due at booking!

Are you fully insured?

Yes we are!

What are the requirements for the Sweet Heart Winery venue?

Sweet Heart Winery requires two weeks notice. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Each person must spend $20 on food & drinks at the winery. Please note that you are only allowed 1 hour for this venue.

What if I damage the setup?

We are happy to clean up after you. That is part of our service, and we understand about little spills! But if there is irreparable damage to our equipment, like stains, dirt, mud, etc., that we are unable to remove, the contact for the picnic will be notified and the credit card on file will be charged.

What if an additional guest shows up?

No worries! However, additional guests may not have enough comfortable seating or refreshments. Please be advised that Foothills Picnics offers 15 people maximum, and we recommend booking for all expected guests if possible, but we totally understand if more people drop-in.

Can Foothills Picnics customize picnics if you have something very specific in mind?

We can! We want you to get the most out of your experience with us, and sometimes that means bringing in some of your ideas to fit your vision. We can't promise we can fulfill everything you want, but we will try! Please reach out to our email to set up a free consultation.

Can we set up at Horsetooth Reservoir?

We do not set up at Horsetooth unless you help cover the cost of the permit. If you would like to pay $250 extra for the permit, message us and we can make it happen!
